TIDES FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO

Tides by Yoko Kubrick is an abstract marble sculpture carved in Carrara marble from the Apuan Alps of Italy. The work explores the themes of time and water movement, symbolized by the German term 'der Gezeiten' which refers to the ebb and flow of time. The sculpture features three circular waves, symbolizing the past, present, and future, folding into itself through form and movement. Tides is a contemplation on the connection between time, water, and the our human construct of the fourth dimension.
