For Ovid's Metamorphosis, Yoko Kubrick's marble sculptures were installed throughout the historic estate and gardens at Filoli in Woodside, California.
The 2023 exhibition placed contemporary carved forms within formal hedges, garden rooms, paths, and long views. The works could be read across the landscape and encountered at close range as visitors moved through the grounds.

Artemis among the hedges at Filoli
Artemis was positioned against the structure of the garden, where Calacatta Michelangelo marble reads against dark planting and changes with the light throughout the day.
The setting provided a completed example of how Kubrick's work can enter a significant landscape without being separated from the architecture, planting, paths, and movement around it.
