Commissions and Site-specific sculpture in marble, granite, bronze, and stainless steel.

Site specific work

Yoko Kubrick creates site-specific and monumental sculpture for public spaces, architectural environments, gardens, civic settings, cultural institutions, corporate campuses, hospitality projects, and private landscapes.

Her work is rooted in the natural world. The movement of water, the curve of petals, the sheltering form of caves, and the shape of landscapes formed over time all inform her sculptural language. Working in marble, granite, bronze, and stainless steel, Kubrick creates abstract biomorphic forms that bring softness, movement, and a sense of presence into built environments.

For public art and architectural spaces, Kubrick is interested in how sculpture can become part of daily life. A work may define an entry, soften a plaza, respond to a garden, or create a quiet moment within a civic, cultural, or institutional setting. Her sculptures are designed to be encountered in person, in relation to the body, the surrounding architecture, the landscape, and the changing light.

Much of the built world is geometric, structured, and hard-edged. Kubrick’s work offers a softer counterbalance through organic curves, natural rhythm, and material presence. Her sculptures bring warmth and humanity into architectural space while remaining durable, permanent, and site-responsive.

Public Art and Architectural Commissions

Kubrick is available for public art commissions, architectural commissions, and site-specific sculpture projects, including:

Public plazas and civic buildings
Corporate campuses and innovation centers
Hotels, resorts, and hospitality environments
Botanical gardens, sculpture gardens, and landscape projects
Universities, cultural institutions, and museums
Private estates and architectural residences

Each commission begins with a careful study of the site, including scale, architecture, landscape, circulation, light, material, and the way people will move around the work. Kubrick works in collaboration with clients, curators, architects, landscape designers, engineers, fabricators, and installation teams to create sculpture that belongs to its setting and can endure over time.

Her focus is on permanence, proportion, craft, and the emotional experience of form.

materials

Kubrick works in marble, granite, bronze, and stainless steel. These materials allow her to create sculpture with a strong physical presence and long-term durability. Stone offers weight, stillness, and a connection to the ancient world. Bronze brings warmth, reflection, and depth. Stainless steel carries light and movement, allowing the surrounding environment to become part of the work itself.
